Description
If you’re after some countryside tranquillity, then look no further than Villa Stone Life. This rugged stone villa is nestled in a snug countryside spot, the perfect secluded Croatian retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Located on the western coast of Istria in the small town of Kloštar, life here is as relaxing as it can get and offers an authentic glimpse into Croatia. We recommend renting a car to explore the best parts of this breath-taking peninsula. If you can be tempted to leave this secluded oasis, around the corner is the ancient Roman city of Pula, a fantastic day trip with its historic amphitheatre and a variety of vibrant restaurants and bars. Closer to home is Vrsar, a small, agricultural village where you will find a choice of shops and family-run restaurants. For nature lovers, explore the twisting hiking trails through the verdant landscape of the Lim Valley, which is just a ten-minute drive away.
Built in 1757 and lovingly renovated many times since but retaining its original appeal, Villa Stone Life is the epitome of a rustic Croatian farmhouse and breathes traditional charm. The exteriors reflect the beautiful architecture of the village, picturesque with light-coloured Istrian stone walls, ornamental iron work, grand archways, and terracotta roof tiles. The interiors are bursting with authentic character, with fresh white walls complimented by exposed stone facades and high wooden beamed ceilings. Consisting of two fully equipped houses connected with a covered terrace, it’s the ideal getaway for two families or groups. The living areas transport you back in time with shabby chic furniture, decadent rugs, and elegant chandeliers. The kitchens join the open-plan space, with a country-style cooker and traditional wooden cabinetry. In each home, there’s one double and one twin bedroom decorated with classical touches that echo the old Croatian style.
You’ll find it hard to tear yourself away from the sumptuous, sun-kissed terrace, made private and secluded thanks to the whitewashed brick walls. The mosaic tile pool is the star attraction, inviting you to take a refreshing dip and soak up the gorgeous Croatian sunshine. It’s lined with plush sun loungers, so hop out and dry off in the heat as you sunbathe your way through the hazy afternoons. With an alfresco dining table and a beautiful brick barbecue, dinner is best served outside in the warm, crisp air.
*Please note there is no internal connection between the 2 houses.
